Curator's Tour: The New York Graphic Workshop

Ursula Davila-Villa will lead a tour of The New York Graphic Workshop, an exhibition that examines the early collaboration between artists Luis Camnitzer, Jose Guillermo Castillo and Liliana Porter in New York during the late 60s.

At 2pm, noted critic and art historian Jed Perl will give a lecture in conjunction with the publication of his book, Watteau's World: The Mysterious Life and Magnificent Afterlife of an 18th-century Painter.

East Austin Studio Tour 2008

Artist Talk: Vijai Patchineelam

CRL will host an artist talk with Mapping Exchange artist-in-residence Vijai Patchineelam, during which the artist will discuss his practice and the young artistic scene of Brazil, specifically addressing how context has informed the practice of emerging artists in Rio de Janeiro. Most excitingly, the talk will feature two screenings and an opportunity to visit Patchineelam's art pod in the CRL parking lot and view his work.

Ken Adams: Video Screenings

In conjunction with Ken Adam's American Satori / Terra Lucida (World of Light), Sala Diaz will be screening three of the artist's earlier works: Alien Dreamtime (1993, 60 minutes) will begin at 7pm, Strange Attractor (2003, 85 minutes) will begin at 8:15pm and Imaginary Muslims & Other Perfect Strangers (2006, 73 minutes) will begin at 10pm. Be there for this one-of-a-kind, four-hour, psychedelic journey.
