Josephine Meckseper’s poignant binding of consumerism, activism, politics, and violence in her exhibition at The Blaffer Gallery in Houston made challenging demands on the viewer, but was worth every second. An appropriated advertisement of a Saab family sedan morphing into a fighter jet accompanied by ear-shattering techno was the icing on the cake. Nobody said art had to be easy. EZ
