The fourth testsite project, Essential Volume, paired visual artist Jason Singleton with writer Anjali Gupta. Their collaboration, a series of four installations and related texts, unfolded over the course of six weeks-—a schedule that paralleled the renovation of the gallery space itself. The accompanying document is a combination of descriptive materials generated to compliment the visual installation (written by Gupta and visually manipulated by Singleton), interviews and excerpts from conversations between the two collaborators over the course of the project.
