Raised in a Transcendental Meditation community in Fairfield, Iowa, Joey Fauerso received her BFA from the University of Iowa, and her MFA from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Her paintings, videos, and installations have been exhibited nationally and internationally with recent shows at the Drawing Center in NY, Artpace in San Antonio, Antenna Gallery in New Orleans, The Museo de Arte Moderno in Medellin, Colombia, and MASSMoCA, in North Adams, Massachusetts. Fauerso has been the recipient of many grants and residencies, including The Golden Foundation Grant, Dallas Museum of Art Kimberough Grant, the RAIR artist in residence grant, the Ucross residency grant, and recently a 3-month residency at Kunstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin. Fauerso is a Professor of Art at Texas State University lives with her family in San Antonio, Texas.
